A Note On How We're Handling The Coronavirus

Hello ladies,

We are aware of and are listening to concerns that you may have surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As the situation is evolving rapidly, we are evaluating events on a case by case basis and following guidelines as shared by health officials.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is said to be spread by person to person contact.

Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

If you are an attendee registered for an event, you will be notified via email if that event is cancelled. In the meantime, if you feel that cancelling your registration is best, please do so. We will accept all cancellations at this time without penalty.

Please note that so far we have cancelled all of our overnight events, as well as events happening in California, Oregon and New York. We will continue to listen to and reevaluate each of our events as we hear more from our community and also what health officials are recommending for social distancing, and events and gatherings.

*UPDATE. We will not be hosting events under our org name until September 2020. All informal gatherings as organized through our Facebook groups are currently being discouraged. If this date and timeline should change, we will update our membership via email.*

We ask that whether you are attending an event, or staying home that you follow the guidelines being put forth by health care officials, which are as follows:

Clean your hands often

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Avoid close contact

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick

  • Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at a higher risk of getting very sick.

Stay home if you’re sick

  • Stay home if you are sick. Even if your symptoms are mild.

Cover your cough and sneezes

  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.

  • Throw used tissues in the trash.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Note that we will continue to monitor guidance from local public health officials where we have events scheduled events and will cancel or postpone events as needed. We ask that if you are feeling ill, including any fatigue or coughing, that you stay home and refrain from attending any of our scheduled events. At this time, tickets and registration for our events can be cancelled without penalty. If you are going to attend an event, please be mindful about hygiene, especially hand washing. At all of our events, please be mindful of close personal contact. Wash your hands before and after the event and carry a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol on hikes to keep your hands clean. Please also try to avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth. These are guidelines as expressed from the CDC. Please know that this policy and the requests being made around our events are being done with an abundance of caution. We care about you and we want you to be and remain well!

In the meantime, if you are going hiking, or seeking any kind of wellness and healing we recommend that you join us in the We Hike To Heal movement. This is a great way to still feel a part of a community during this period of social distancing. We want to support you, and we want you to support each other.

Thank you for being here and for understanding the above policy for our group hikes and events. If you have questions, concerns, or input about our current policy please let us know via email. If needed we will update you again with steps we are taking regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
