Outdoor Research Gaiters

Trail Tuesday Review. Hiking in this winter weather calls for some extra equipment, and I, @Im_NicoleMarie actually get pretty excited when I get to throw on my Outdoor Research Verglas Gaiters. While most gaiters come in your basic black, I really appreciate Outdoor Research making a colorway for women who hike to make you feel both prepared, badass and also feminine at the same time. I like that when making my way up or down the trail, male or female you can see me coming. Now, color aside, Outdoor Research made this set of gaiters extremely durable. Crafted of a textile called Pertex which is a versatile, wind resistant and breathable fabric that has you covered in those pesky winter temperatures and conditions. They are lightweight (just 6.7oz) and easy to put on and feature lace hooks for boots to keep them in place and a strap/buckle top closure as opposed to your usual bungee closure. Outdoor Research also has all women in mind when it comes to these gaiters, as they make them in three sizes: small, medium and large.

We find that choosing and wearing a gaiter is really a personal preference and also can be found in a 3/4 length size, shorter than these. I actually have a 3/4 length set and when deciding what to go out in, I always migrate towards these instead. Sure, they’re taller than what I would need most times hiking in the snow we get here in SoCal, but I sort of have a philosophy when it comes to gear and it is: ‘better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it'.

Also, @OutdoorResearch is a company built on the premise of a feeling: the urge to get out. It is a driving intention at the Northwest based company that we also at @WomenWhoHike relate to. Buy a product by Outdoor Research and it is guaranteed for life.
