Cotopaxi Teca Windbreaker

This jacket, the Cotopaxi Teca Windbreaker has been everywhere with me since I got it. To Ireland, Joshua Tree, Death Valley National Park, Alabama Hills, Strawberry Peak, Mt Baldy, Nevada, to the forests and beaches of Northern California, and now Oregon. It is certainly a go to, and not something I ever consider leaving behind because of its lightweight and packability. The function, versatility and pop of color is also good for any place, occasion or activity. The thing that most impresses me about this jacket is the durability. Suffice to say, I have put it through hell. Its made with repurposed 20D ripstop nylon with a DWR finish. In addition to hiking in this jacket, I have also climbed in it, against sharp granite and sandstone. I also had to bushwhack my way through a trail and even when I got caught along the branches, thinking for sure that this jacket would rip or get a hole in it, it didn’t. Another highlights I love is the elastic bindings on the hood, cuffs and hem. The jacket stays in place, wherever you want it to and your hands are free no matter what length your arms may be, which seems to be a challenge for outdoor brands making jackets for women. The back panel vent resists any locked in heat and there’s two pockets on the outside for anything you might want to stash away. There is also an interior chest pocket where the jacket can be folded and conveniently packed into, making it a great layer piece for the spring and summer temps when you want to get down to your tee or tank. At a weight of just 4.5oz, I can never fathom not taking this jacket along with me anywhere and everywhere. It’s also a great light layer to wear if you want to keep your skin out of the sun while on trails, camping or on mountains. This jacket comes in six different color combinations, a full zip or half zip and is available for women and men. The Teca Windbreaker is truly for everyone and everything!
