Modern Huntsman The Women's Issue

One of our favorite things about being in the outdoor and recreation space is getting to connect with other women who also use these spaces for all different reasons. One of those women is Lindsey Davis of Wylder Goods. “Hiker, biker, skier, climber…no matter the pursuit, every action we take in the outdoors puts us in direct contact with an ecosystem working very hard to support life. We fish, farm, grocery shop, are vegan, vegetarian, or hunt to feed ourselves — all surviving on and sharing the same living systems with each other, and wildlife.”

Lindsey is a woman who hikes, and also a first generation hunter, and we are happy to feature her here at @womenwhohike and tell you about Vol. 4 of Modern Huntsman where she is part of an ambitious collaboration of over 20 female writers, photographers, hunters, non-hunters, artists, scientists, conservationists, and business owners to paint a contemporary portrait of women who thrive in relationship to their ecosystems in the mountains, on the prairie, in rivers and oceans.

Modern Huntsman Vol. 4 is focused on women of the outdoors and is an ambitious collaboration of female writers, photographers, hunters, non-hunters, artists, scientists, conservationists, and business owners to paint a contemporary portrait of women who thrive in relationship to their ecosystems in the mountains, on the prairie, in rivers and oceans.

Led by a cast of female guest editors, this issue celebrates the accomplishments and stories of extraordinary gentlewomen in hunting, fishing, art, ranching and conservation. The individuals featured in this book have tremendous influence in forging the future for women in hunting while still honoring traditions that have been passed on for generations. They have overcome gender stereotypes to pursue their passions and professional fields, while challenging some of the preconceived notions of women in hunting.

Due for release in late October, Modern Huntsman Volume Four: The Women’s Issue will be available on www.modernhuntsman.com/shop/volume-four and select retailers.
